Target 0–60 Calculator

Set a 0–60 mph goal to estimate how much power you need at your current weight, or how much weight you need to remove at your current power.

Target 0–60 Calculator controls

Vehicle specs

Input units
lb

Look up curb weight in the manufacturer’s specs for your trim. Exclude occupants and cargo.

hp

Use the manufacturer’s rated engine or system power for your trim.

s
Optional
s

Use a run with similar launch and timing conditions, including rollout.

Worked example

Planning for a 5.50-second run

For a 3,500 lb, 300 hp car and a 5.50 s goal, the model estimates 349.6 hp at the original weight or a maximum of 3,003.6 lb at the original power.

Which figure should I use?

The calculator changes one variable at a time. Use the power figure if curb weight stays fixed. Use the maximum weight if rated power stays fixed. To explore simultaneous changes, enter them together in an upgrade scenario.

What happens if I enter a measured baseline?

The calculator scales the model to the time you supply and uses that same scale to solve for your target. Compare runs made under similar conditions. In metric mode the target is still 60 mph.
